'Words can't describe what he meant to us'

The Windsor Spitfires have cancelled practice and at least one game as they cope with the loss of popular captain Mickey Renaud.

Renaud -- who died Monday at age 19 after collapsing in his family's Tecumseh home -- was remembered Tuesday as the spark of the team.

"Words can't describe what he meant to us," Spitfires coach Bob Boughner said at an emotional news conference at Windsor Arena, where team owners fought back tears and offered condolences to the Renaud family. "Mickey was the face of our organization and somebody who could never be replaced."
