Quebec police make more drug busts

For the second day in a row, Quebec police carried out raids targeting suspected drug dealers and organized criminals, as officers in Montreal and Laval searched about 10 buildings in the two cities early Thursday morning.

Montreal police Const. André Leclerc said six people have been arrested, and more arrests could be coming later in the day.

Leclerc said the latest arrests were not related to the massive operation that saw 46 people arrested in raids against the Hells Angels across the province on Wednesday.

Police said 27 of those suspects have been formally charged at the Montreal courthouse.

One man has been granted bail on condition that he deposit $10,000 with the court. The others face bail hearings next Monday.

The 26 men and one woman are all accused of plotting to traffic in crack cocaine.
